Itinerary

  • 11:00 PM (Previous Night): Depart from Pune. Enjoy the scenic night drive towards Malshej Ghat.

  • 04:30 AM: Arrive at the base village. Freshen up and enjoy a local breakfast (Poha with tea).

  • 06:00 AM: Begin the guided trek through the lush green trails of Malshej Ghat. The mist-covered forest, chirping birds, and cool mountain breeze set the perfect tone for adventure.

  • 07:00 AM: Reach the first viewpoint for breathtaking vistas of Kalu Waterfall, Harishchandragad Fort, and the majestic Kokan Kada.

  • 07:30 AM: Zipline from one side of kalu river to another (if needed).

  • 08:00 AM: Reach mighty Kalu Waterfall and experience the raw beauty of the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Take time to relax, click photos, and soak in the serenity.

  • 11:00 AM: Begin the descent back through the same forest trail, retracing your way amidst streams and waterfalls.

  • 01:00 PM: Reach the base village, freshen up, and share your trek stories with the group.

  • 02:00 PM: Enjoy a delicious homemade lunch at a local villager’s house.

  • 03:00 PM: Depart for Pune with memories of a thrilling forest adventure.

  • 08:00 PM: Reach Pune by evening. Trip ends with unforgettable memories.

  • Note: The schedule may vary slightly due to weather conditions, trail situations, or other natural factors. Private batches can request custom departure timings or itinerary adjustments.

Things to Carry

  • Rucksack (30L–40L) with rain cover

  • Raincoat / Poncho / Waterproof Jacket (avoid umbrella)

  • Complete spare set of clothes (T-shirt, track pants, socks, undergarments) – packed in plastic bags to keep dry

  • Waterproof trekking shoes with strong grip + extra pair of socks

  • Water bottle (2 liters) – use reusable bottles/hydration pack

  • Plastic bags / dry bags to double-pack valuables, phone, wallet, powerbank

  • Personal medicines & first aid kit

  • Lightweight towel / napkin

  • Cap / Hat for sun & drizzles

  • Snacks & energy food – dry fruits, chikki, energy bars, chocolate, ORS/Glucon D

  • Torch / Headlamp with extra batteries (forest trail can get dim due to fog)

  • Power bank (no electricity at base village)

  • Sunscreen & insect repellent

  • ID proof (compulsory)

  • Personal hygiene kit (sanitizer, tissues, sanitary items)

  • Alcohol, smoking, or intoxicants strictly prohibited.

  • Do not litter on trails – carry your waste back.

  • No loud music in forest areas.

  • Follow trek leader’s instructions at all times.

  • Trekker’s misbehaviour causing distress/harm will lead to termination without refund.

  • Adventure Club Pune not liable for accidents/injuries – participants bear medical/emergency expenses.

  • Avoid carrying ornaments, jewellery, or valuables.

  • Respect nature & co-trekkers – follow code of conduct.

Hidden deep within the rugged folds of the Sahyadri ranges lies Kalu Waterfall, one of Maharashtra’s most majestic and lesser-explored natural wonders. The trek begins through the enchanting trails of Malshej Ghat, where mist rolls over the hills and the forest hums with the sound of unseen streams. The journey unfolds through God Valley, a breathtaking gorge carved by time, leading to the mighty Kalu Waterfall, cascading from over 1,200 feet — the highest waterfall in the region.
It’s not just a trek; it’s a raw connection with nature  from trekking across dense forests to standing face-to-face with the roaring waterfall, this adventure promises to be a memory etched for a lifetime.
