The Lonavala to Bhimashankar Range Trek is a challenging and scenic Sahyadri range trek connecting the mountain landscapes around Lonavala with the sacred Bhimashankar region. The route combines village trails, dense forest sections, mountain ridges, homestay experiences, and the spiritual atmosphere of Bhimashankar.

The trek passes through Udhewadi, Kusur, Talpewadi and Padharwadi before entering the forested region towards Bhimashankar. Participants experience traditional village hospitality, home-cooked Maharashtrian meals, jungle trails and panoramic Sahyadri landscapes along the route.

This trek is suitable for participants looking for a long-distance Sahyadri range trekking experience with overnight village homestays and a combination of trekking, nature and spirituality.

Safety & Risk Awareness

At Adventure Club Pune, participant safety is our highest priority. This range trek is conducted through the Sahyadri mountain region with experienced trek leaders, local guides, route assessment, village coordination, and basic emergency preparedness.

The Lonavala to Bhimashankar Range Trek involves long-distance trekking through forest trails, mountain ridges, village paths, rocky sections, steep ascents and descents, and remote areas with limited access to medical facilities.

Participants may encounter uneven terrain, slippery surfaces, loose rocks, dense vegetation, stream crossings, changing weather conditions, insects, wildlife, and other natural challenges.

Participants must remain with the group and strictly follow the instructions of the Trek Leader and local guide. Decisions taken by the Trek Leader regarding route, pace, rest stops, weather, safety, or itinerary changes shall be final.


Rules And Regulations

  • Consumption of alcohol, smoking, or any kind of intoxicants is strictly prohibited throughout the trek. Any participant found under the influence may be removed from the group without refund.
  • Participants must respect the Sahyadri environment, local villages, temples, forests, wildlife, and local communities at all times.
  • Littering is strictly prohibited. Participants must carry back plastic, wrappers, bottles, and other non-biodegradable waste.
  • Loud music, shouting, or creating disturbances in forest areas, villages, homestays, temples, or campsites is not permitted.
  • Participants must strictly follow the instructions and decisions of the Trek Leader and local guide, particularly regarding route selection, pace, rest breaks, and safety.
  • The trek includes steep ascents, descents, rocky patches, forest trails, uneven surfaces, and long walking sections. Participants must exercise caution throughout the trek.
  • Good trekking shoes with proper grip are mandatory for the entire trek.
  • Participants must maintain the group pace and should not leave the designated trail or enter unauthorized forest routes.
  • Any misconduct, harassment, abusive behaviour, argument, or behaviour that causes inconvenience or discomfort to fellow participants, local villagers, guides, or staff may result in removal from the trek without refund.
  • Adventure Club Pune provides basic first-aid support and emergency coordination; however, all expenses related to medical treatment, evacuation, hospitalization, rescue, or additional transportation shall be borne by the participant.
  • Participants are advised not to carry expensive jewellery, unnecessary valuables, or excessive cash. Adventure Club Pune shall not be responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
  • Damaging forest property, village property, homestay property, temples, water sources, or disturbing wildlife is strictly prohibited.
  • Participants must maintain cleanliness at village homestays and follow the instructions of the local hosts.
  • Accommodation during the trek is generally basic village homestay accommodation and should not be compared with hotels or resorts.
  • Meals served during the trek will be simple, freshly prepared vegetarian Maharashtrian/local meals as mentioned in the inclusions.
  • Every event operates with a minimum of 12 confirmed participants. If the minimum number is not achieved, Adventure Club Pune may offer an alternate trek, reschedule the batch, or provide a refund as applicable.
  • A dedicated WhatsApp coordination group may be created before the trek for important updates, reporting details, and on-ground coordination.
  • Pickup points, reporting times, local transportation, and route arrangements may change due to operational requirements or unforeseen circumstances.
  • The itinerary is subject to change depending on weather conditions, trail conditions, roadblocks, forest restrictions, local conditions, participant safety, or other unavoidable circumstances.

  • They are physically and mentally fit for multi-day trekking and long-distance walking.

  • They will disclose any relevant medical condition, allergy, injury, or medication requirement before the trek.
  • They understand that access to medical facilities may be limited in remote sections of the route.

Participant Consent & Assumption Of Risk

By registering for the Lonavala to Bhimashankar Range Trek, participants acknowledge that trekking, forest travel, mountain walking, village trails, transportation, and associated outdoor activities involve inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

These risks may include:

  • Slips, trips, and falls
  • Steep ascents and descents
  • Rocky and uneven terrain
  • Loose stones and slippery surfaces
  • Stream crossings
  • Heavy rainfall and changing weather
  • Landslides or falling rocks
  • Insects and wildlife encounters
  • Fatigue, dehydration, or exhaustion

Participants voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with participating in the trek and agree to follow all safety instructions issued by Adventure Club Pune's Trek Leader and local guide.

Adventure Club Pune shall not be responsible for incidents arising from participant negligence, failure to follow safety instructions, concealed medical conditions, reckless behaviour, natural hazards, weather conditions, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Nothing in this declaration shall limit liability arising from proven gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the organizer.


Travel & Medical Insurance

  • Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable travel, medical, and personal accident insurance before joining the trek.
  • Unless specifically mentioned under the inclusions, Adventure Club Pune does not provide individual insurance coverage.
  • Any expenses relating to medical treatment, hospitalization, evacuation, rescue operations, transportation, insurance claims, or personal emergencies shall be borne by the participant and/or their insurer.

Weather, Natural Conditions & Force Majeure

Adventure Club Pune reserves the right to modify, postpone, reroute, reschedule, shorten, or cancel the trek in the interest of participant safety.
