Overview

Dhak Bahiri is one of the most adventurous and technically demanding trekking experiences in the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra. The trek takes you through changing terrain including forest trails, open sections, rocky patches and narrow mountain passages before reaching the dramatic final rock section leading to the Dhak Bahiri caves.

The highlight of the trek is the technical approach to Dhak Bahiri Cave, where participants encounter steep and exposed rock sections requiring careful climbing technique, rope assistance and close coordination with the technical support team. Fixed ropes and rock-cut steps are present along portions of the route, but the terrain remains demanding and requires concentration.

At the cave, participants can experience the historic Bhairavnath temple and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Sahyadri ranges and Rajmachi region. The return involves a controlled rappelling activity from the technical section under the supervision of the technical team.

This is not a beginner-friendly trek. Good physical fitness, previous trekking experience, confidence on heights and the ability to follow technical safety instructions are essential. The technical climbing and rappelling activities will be conducted under the supervision of the designated technical support team.
