The Mount Kilimanjaro Trek via the Machame Route is an iconic high-altitude expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain and one of the world's most sought-after trekking destinations.
Starting from Kilimanjaro International Airport, the expedition begins with a stay in Moshi followed by the scenic approach to Machame Gate. The route gradually ascends through diverse ecological zones, from lush montane forests and moorlands to alpine desert and the high-altitude summit zone.
The Machame Route offers a challenging yet rewarding progression through some of Kilimanjaro's most spectacular landscapes. Trekkers pass through Machame Camp, Shira Camp, Barranco Camp, Karanga Camp and Barafu Camp before making the demanding summit attempt towards Stella Point and Uhuru Peak at approximately 5,900 metres.
The summit day is the defining experience of the expedition, beginning during the night from Barafu Camp and continuing towards the roof of Africa. After reaching Uhuru Peak, trekkers descend via Barafu to Millennium Camp before completing the final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate.

The Summit Bonus of approximately US$150–200 is considered part of the tipping arrangements for the mountain leadership, guides, porters and support staff.

Mount Kilimanjaro is a high-altitude mountain expedition involving significant physical exertion and inherent outdoor risks. Participants may encounter steep and rocky terrain, loose scree, extreme cold, strong winds, changing weather, fatigue, dehydration, altitude-related illness, limited medical facilities and difficult evacuation conditions.
The summit section is particularly demanding because of the high altitude, low temperatures, darkness and prolonged physical exertion.
Participants must immediately report symptoms such as severe headache, dizziness, nausea, unusual breathlessness, confusion, extreme weakness or any other concerning condition to the mountain team.
Safety decisions taken by the Trek Leader or local mountain guide shall be final and binding.

The Trek Leader has final authority regarding summit attempts, route changes, descent decisions and participant safety.

A summit attempt may be stopped at any point if the mountain team determines that conditions are unsafe.

Every event operates with a minimum of 12 confirmed participants; if this number is not met, we may offer an alternate trek, reschedule to the next available batch, or provide a full refund as per the situation.

Summit success is not guaranteed and no refund shall automatically arise solely because a participant does not reach Uhuru Peak for safety or other operational reasons.
