Experience the historic grandeur of Rajgad Fort, one of the most significant forts in Maharashtra’s history, through an overnight trekking and camping expedition organised by Adventure Club Pune. Known for its imposing fortifications, expansive plateaus, historic gateways and panoramic Sahyadri landscapes, Rajgad offers a rewarding experience for trekking enthusiasts, nature lovers and adventure seekers.
This expedition combines a scenic trek, an overnight camping experience at Padmavati Machi, an early-morning climb towards Balekilla and an opportunity to explore the fort’s historic structures. Participants will trek through the mountainous terrain of the Sahyadris, spend the night at the designated campsite and begin the next morning with a climb timed to experience the sunrise, weather and visibility permitting.
The programme is designed for participants who are comfortable with physical activity, uneven terrain, uphill ascents and descents, and basic outdoor camping conditions. Participants must follow the trek leader’s instructions, cooperate with the group and carry their assigned camping equipment as communicated before departure.
Adventure Club Pune coordinates the transport, trek leadership and arrangements specifically confirmed under the selected package. The itinerary is planned to provide an organised group experience; however, trekking and camping are outdoor activities subject to weather, terrain, local regulations, participant fitness and other operational conditions. Timings and activities may therefore be adjusted when required for safety or logistical reasons.
Whether you choose the Pune-to-Pune package or report directly to the base village, this expedition offers an opportunity to experience Rajgad beyond a conventional sightseeing visit, with a night at the fort, an early-morning trek and time to explore its historic landscape.
